The Elves are coming
Famed for being Santa’s little helpers, the Littlehampton branch of the NES (National Elf Service) is busy helping to prepare a breath-taking display of festive cheer for the Town’s big Christmas illuminations.
Making sure that everything is fully festooned for the big switch event on the 24th November; local elves are working with Littlehampton Town Council and the Trader's Partnership to introduce a sparkling new range of lights and decorations, which will include the town’s first ever interactive display. With elves drawn by Sussex artist Steve Carroll, residents are being asked to find their favourite elf on one of the town centre buildings and to strike a pose for an ‘elfie selfie.’ People are then asked to share their snaps on social media with #LAelfie.
In addition to the elves there will also be a chance to win 1.5kg of sweets courtesy of Bah-Humbug Sweets and a family ticket (2 adults, 2 children) to the Littlehampton Musical Comedy Society panto Dick Whittington. Just find Santa and his reindeer in the town centre shops.
Speaking about the new illuminations, Councillor Ian Buckland, Chair of the Community Resources Committee said: “The Town Council is very committed to working with local businesses to bring visitors to the Town Centre and we are extremely excited that together we are able to include interactive displays as part of the festive illuminations. Make sure you take part in the reindeer competition and also snap a picture with your favourite elf.”
Santa said: “Ho, ho, ho! If you want to win the sweeties you can find entry forms in the event programme, soon to be available from the Manor House, Bah-Humbug Sweets and many other town centre outlets. I do hope everyone will come and join in all the fun on offer from the evening of the 24th November. Don’t forget to take an ‘elfie selfie’ of yourself with my little pals.”
