Let’s go to Town
Excellent family entertainment, superb performances and high-quality stalls are some of the fantastic things on offer at the Town Show & Family Fun Day on Saturday 9th September, from noon to 5pm.
The popular event held at Rosemead Park organised by Littlehampton Town Council and the Town Show Committee returns for its 15th year and is undoubtedly one of the biggest community celebrations in the Town calendar.
This year’s event is sponsored by Wick Village Traders Association and Wannops LLP and is sure to appeal to visitors of all ages. Crowds can enjoy six decades of hits from award-winning live act, the Tribute Show as well as performances from the Sussex Tornados and children’s entertainer Nick Clark, who will be putting on a fantastic magic show.
There will also be the ever-popular free Dog Show, organised by the Littlehampton Dog Training Club - with categories including Most Handsome Dog, Prettiest Bitch, Best Veteran- Over 7 and Best Rescue Dog.
The Horticultural and Craft Show organised by the Town Show Committee promises to please as ever with hundreds of exhibits including everything from an array of vegetables and stunning flowers to outstanding skills in the handicraft section. A list of categories and entry form is available from the Town Council’s office.
This year the stage will also be home to the Garden and Allotments Competition awards ceremony. Littlehampton’s keen gardeners will be presented with their trophies and commendations for their hard work earlier in the summer.
The bustling Community Marquee will feature over 50 different groups offering a range of information about their services as well as the chance to buy a variety of items and win prizes. For those who prefer a quieter activity, a game of Bingo with the Wick 50up club is a must- with the first session starting at 1pm.
The Town Show Food Court is sure to please with stalls from local caterers including Thai Taste Catering, Dal Fuoco pizzas, Mexican street food from Hey Amigo, ice cream from Pinks Vintage and the Lions Club beer tent.
